Until you get your operators manual.

Draft is to maintain constant load on the tractor with varying field conditions.

You set the depth you want to plow and take off, say in soft soil first. If and when you get into clay and the tractor's governor wants to kick in with some more woopie and the tires are thinking about doing some slipping, your plow (via the 3 pt) puts pressure on the draft sensor saying "lighten the load a little bit". The hydraulics respond by moving the plow out of the ground only enough to balance the pressure on the draft sensor that you originally set when you set the draft lever to some up/down position. Once the pressure equalizes, the plow stays at that depth until pressure eases off at which time the system returns the plow to your preset depth.

As I recall, the postition control has to be at one limit for this to function properly.

Go to the N board or Ford board and you will find the experts.

naz, check your manual. If you don't have one get one. You'll be surprised what neat stuff about your tractor is in there.

First, turn that radio down,;-) You should have 2 control levers, one for Position, one for Draft. Draft is used when plowing, disking, some planters, subsoiling, etc where you want to keep some down pressure on the implements to maintain depth. It's either all the way up or all the way down with draft(generally), the place you leave the lever determines what the depth will be. Position is variable, stop it where you want it. Best to buy an operator's manual and see what MF wants you to know.
