This is part of a photo from a magazine and I cannot figure out what make or model the tractor is. The top tank of the radiator is cast iron and it has an oval fill hole with a wire hold loop. The oval cap (probably cast) is missing. The grille panels appear to be tin but might be cast iron. The center strip of the grille is missing. The emblem on the radiator tank is cast and appears to be a circle or a "C" with either a "6" or a "G" inside of it. I would guess it is a "C" with a "6" inside but that's only a guess. I can't tell if that is the top of the air cleaner above the hood or some sort of a raincap over an exhaust stack stub. The bottom of the radiator appears to be cast iron. I would guess it is a tractor in the 4-6000 pound range. It is a standard front tractor, one tire is slightly visible. The grille panels appear to wrap around about 3" or so. Any idea of what it might be? The picture was taken in Yellowknife, North West Territories in Northern Canada.

If it is from Yellowknife I guarantee it never did any farming. All exposed Canadian Shield bedrock.

Only have one picture here in a book of one of those and from what I see, the Centaur (model KV from the early 40's) seems to be all tin at the front with a regular rad cap. And maybe even mesh grille panels, not bars. The photo of the Centaur isn't very good so I'm guessing a bit, however the grille panels certainly seem to have the same shape.

Howdy Alberta Mike -
For Centaur information give a holler on Tales board for C-Nut. He knows quite a bit about them and even went to NC to look at one.

Looking at the pic my guess is Centaur as well given the shape of the hood.

Obviously, I wasn't too successful at posting the photo which I've tried here for the first time. The photo is in the photo gallery if you search out my name. It is titled "unknown tractor" or you could find it using my name, Mike Ballash or Alberta Mike. Wish it would have showed up here, certainly would have made things easier.
