Seats and hours of comfort

Hi.

Deconstructed the IH504 seat this weekend to re-cover. Every bolt on the
outside sheared off and is rust welded inside the frame from 35 years of
rain. Easy outs won't work. Abandon this ship.

I priced a new stock seat but that doesn't get us more mowing comfort. A
"universal" tractor seat at Agri-Supply is about the same price but has slide adjustment
and a shock absorber. I presume that has to be a step up technologywise and
comfortwise, assuming it is not cheesy quality. We probably would have to
custom mount with a couple flat pieces of steel and a couple drilled holes.

If I get your blessing on this choice, I will order it and hope for good
quality. It is about $100.

Anyone have any experience with the quality of the Universal seats from Agri-Supply?? I have four other tractors that need new seats and I've had 3 hip operations so I need smooth shock absorbing comfort.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I love the TISCO seats. So far I've customized them to fit everything I have except my cab tractor, and as soon as I figure that out I may put one on it too. I've had 2 back operations and have about a half pound of Iraqi steel in my back, they are one of the few seats that I can spend 10 hours in.

Sounds like the same seat I bought for my Ford. As soon as I can get my rest-o-ride original seat restored, that one is going in the trash! Mine is rather poorly made, adjustment is not smooth (if you can get it to move at all!) and it is not as comfortable as my pan seat. If you want comfort, I think you may be paying a lot more. Just my honest experience with the "cheaper" seats. Maybe someone else had better luck...Stan
