Can you see swirling oil foam in the oil tank?

Ideally, you have a vent on your pump that you can crack or open and let the air out at the pump and eventually solid fluid will come out and you can tighten the plug. The tractor should be idling and the plug still in the hole (one turn type thing).

The other thing I have read herein is to do the same thing but pressurize your housing with compressed air and the air will force the fluid toward the pump. Just remember force is surface area x air pressure so I wouldn't get too frisky with the air; maybe set your regulator to 20 psig or something...and just leave it on there for a short time.....if the wall of your housing is 15"x15" and your air compressor is at 100 psig, that is 225 sq" x 100 lbs. or 22,500 lbs of force trying to blow the side out of your tractor.

If you installed the filter on the suction line, there could be some caviation (vapor lock sort of thing if it were gas we were talking about) that has to be overcome.

If that doesn't work we can dream up something else.
