Iam in charge of a fleet of tractors that three boy scout camps use for various thing during the summer. we are now reguired to have all our tractors fitted with roll over protection. is ther any aftermarket systems available or am i able make my own and still satify the safety of the vechile? any help would be greatly appretiated.

Buy the ROPS. A home made one may very well work and work better but..... .. as someone who is experiencing first hand the court system as the defendant in a liability suit you dont want the responsibility. If you build it and it fails I would expect the liability to be on you instead of the camp. Also I would expect the camps liability insurer to not cover damages involving any non ASAE certified unit.

Hummm, Laws and rules, it is better if you keep them right side up. I believe IH and Deere had ROPS available for some of their older models. If you build your own you could be personaly liable if someone was hurt so i would say NO. Best to let them buy new tractors if that is what they want.
