Can a person weld a block with a 110 volt wire feed welder? Do they make a special wire for this application?

to weld a crack in a cast block. you drill a hole in the ends of the crack to keep the crack from spreading. grind a shallow V the lenght of the crack. warm the whole block first, then heat the weld area to a dull red. using a stick welder, weld with a nickle rod, peen the weld to relieve stress. allow the block to cool slowly, two to three hours.

Hi Terry,

No it won't work as you don't have enough amps.

Do a search on the tool forum for "weld" and read for a few weeks. There's been great info posted about all types of welding.
