It only took nine months but my '44 SC is running great and purring like a contented kitten. Got a chance to try out that hand clutch for the first time today. Still ain't wiped the grin off.

Any photos that you could post here? I must go into the archives and find out how to post a photo here, I have a photo of the front of a tractor that I hope someone can ID for me. I assume I need the photo in my computer or on a disc first right?

Congrats Les, glad to hear you finally got the SC
running. What implements are going to hook up to the SC? Spring is still a ways from here. It's has to be even further away up there. Chuck MA

Where in Mass are you? By gum, you otta come up to my tractor show in Woodstock July 17 and I'll let you drive that SC and anything else I happen to own at the time. It's right off exit 30 or I-93. Currently I also have a VAC and a Farmall M.
For implements, I would like to have some cultivators to use on either of the Cases and a saw rig. May get a saw rig later this spring.

Hey Les I live in North Central MA about 20 miles south of Mt Monadnock. The village I live in is Otter River in the Town of Templeton. I would love come up for the show if can time off from work. Unfornately, I work in the wonderful world of retail sales which means Saturday and Sundays.
Send me the details of trhe show @ chuszy@aol.com
I'll do my best to get up there. I've had my case 310 utility for three years now and never had so much fun. I make excuses just to use it. Has 4 diferent sets of hydraulics on it. What a work horse this machine has proven to be. Came with 6 foot loader on it. We have named her "Old Yellar"
one look at her and you can see why this name fits. Sorry for the long post, I have learned so much from this forum and try to read through every night. Thanks to you and so many others it is really fun to read it every night. Chuck MA

Bet you don't have a cab on it- otherwise the side windows would get knocked out, from the grin!

Too late. I'm already hooked. Just need some warmer weather so that I can enjoy them better. But here in NH, that's kind of like Heinz ketchup.
"Anticipation".

Hi there Les,

That's great. I take it that is the one your friend removed the cylinder ridges on?

The same. Too bad that wasn't the worst problem it had. Ended up pretty much rebuilding the head with new valves, springs, guides and seats and magnafluxing the head. That was in addition to the new rings, 2 new pistons and one new sleeve it needed and the list goes on. Latest setback was that the rocker arms were so worn on the end that pushes on the valve that he had to build them up with weld and then grind off. Otherwise, they wouldn't even open the valves.
Come for a visit sometime and you can see the old boy. July 17 is the date of this year's show.
