installed B & W ball other day so new (to me) Chevy could pull the gooseneck & move my tractors again. Glad I took advice from here & let the shop install it. We installed flat plate ball in buddies garage in the old Chevy; pretty easy job but this job took 2 experienced men 4 hours & they were yelling in pain. Some of those places are hard to reach even for young guys. Hardly anything went easy. Started on Fri. 13th & factory sent wrong hitch. Expected that. Barely started job & spilled big cup of my favorite coffee. That always tells you how its going to go. Anyway its in & it works great. Thanks for advice.

I had a B&W put in my Dodge about 1 1/2 year ago. I have been pleased with it, but noticed today that rails that attach to truck frame are rusting badly. I guess I'll get some Rustoleum to paint them.

Bob, is there any play or movement in the ball with an installation such as yours. What can I expect to pay for hitch and installation in a 2004 F-150. Thanks ..... Rich

No movement I can detect & I have been hauling hay on gravel road rutted out by log trucks & drilling rigs ( gas wells). 2 axle single wheels on trailer which does plenty of banging but thats road conditions. Charged $350 for ball kit & $100 installation & they earned it! No wiring involved. They were the cheapest ones around. $500 was what 2 others wanted to charge.

I paid $600.00 for B&W unit, Installation of it, a high- tech Tekonsha brake controller, & wiring up a new plug inside of bed. But I think they gave me a reduced price , since it was for the gooseneck I bought from them.

You made a wise choice, both with your choice of hitch, and with having the shop install it.
