I have one just like that on my Jeep that I have a Western snowplow on. There is plenty of power to lift the plow and the pulley turns clockwise. You will know if the oil is low because it will only lift the plow part way up. Add oil to save the pump and not wear it out. Hope this helps some.

Try putting some oil in the reservoir and give the pulley a spin. Note which port the oil comes out of when you spin it, that should tell you what rotation it has.
I doubt you'll be able to use it to raise a snowplow. I think the plow cylinder would take more than a quart of oil, but I could be wrong.

These pumps have an arrow stamped on them, usually on one of the spacer plates. Usually they can be reversed also. Hope this helps.
