starter rebuild question

took a Delco MT-25 starter in for a rebuild. near everything on it needed replaced, except the armature. shoot, makes me think i may have wanted a new one. then i heard them new ones cost $400.
cost $200 to rebuild the heavy durn thing. it was rebuilt 12 years ago. cranks a Case 188 diesel.

don't want to sound like a smart as- but 200 for a rebuild??just got two done for my 450 case with 188 and 207 same starter and was 96.55+ 5.5% tax 5.31=101.86 each.[new fields, brushes, turned armature, and new drive, and bushings, and springs,. i would post invoice but don't have scanner

naw, i wont call you a smartasp, looks to me you done that your own self. i am happy that you got by cheap. ain't my luck with this one though.

mine had a solenoid and end cap too. just the armature was right. i'd bought a new one but could not do it. still, it was more money then i expected to pay i'll tell you that.

cannot wait to hear that case run again. it has been a while and there is much to do before spring. mud

that was done by my rebuilder i did not do it at the prices he gets i don't want to get my hands full of gunk. he dose this full time out of a little shop at his house in central wi..P.S. he dose real good work
