I've been paying $18 per square (100 square feet) for new 'seconds'. Most of it an odd length and the colors are definitely a 'Duke's mixture'.

Bruce, Not much locally here, but it is a hot item at the local dump, (transfer station, whatever). If it's in good shape you should get 50% of retail anyway. You know the day after you sell it or give this stuff away you'll need it! Or perhaps you can hawk it on ebay as absolutly authentic antique tin barn roofing from the Roosevelt administration. Have fun, you are going to make someones day, maybe even your own!

At auctions around here, used roofing tin in good shape will usually bring 75 to 80% of new price. Sometimes more.

I've never seen it sell, but I would have said "nothing"- I can't imagine why anyone would pay that much, and have to deal with patching and re-patching the holes for the rest of his life. . .

My thoughts exactly. Which is why I never bid on the stuff, but you would be amazed at how easy it is to sell this stuff. Apparently a lot of people never bother to check the prices of new roofing, they only assume that since it is an auction, it must be a bargain!

I just sold some real rusty corrugated iron (7 and 8 foot) and got $5 per sheet. Amazing what you can sell to some folks.
