I am thinking of purchasing a 1973 Ford 3055. This is the first tractor of this model identification I have ever seen. However, I have been told that this is a tractor from across the big water in Europe. I would like anyone's input on wether or not I should purchase said tractor. It appears to be in fairly good condition. I like the tractor's configuration and size. But, I have not met anyone who has had any dealings with this model.
Thanks for any help that I receive.

Ronnie, you'll probably hear from experts on this question, but I'll tell you what I know. I helped a friend shop for a used tractor and he bought a 3055. We were told by the dealer, that from the bell housing forward the tractor is a 3000, and from the bellhousing back, it's a 4000. It has a 3 cylinder Diesel engine like a 3000 and a transmission and final drive like a 4000. It has an independent PTO and wet brakes and inboard planetaries like a 4000. It had 36 inch rear wheels and 19 inch(?) fronts. The best I could tell, the only thing that didn't look USA made was rear wheels, grill and electrical system was Lucas. It also had a hand brake, although it didn't work. And the fenders were different. They covered the tops of the wheels. The first thing he did with the tractor was bush hog 80 acres of higher than your head weeds, bushes and grass. It used no oil and everything worked well. He paid 3500$for tractor and is happy with it. Somebody correct any mistakes I made in describing the 3055. I hope this helps. Steve in Texarkana.
