We just got 8" of very wet snow in Pennsylvania on top of a foot of powdery snow from last week. I'm having trouble with the new stuff sticking to my snowplows. I use a back blade on a JD2520 and a big plow on a JD4020. I run as fast as I can and with the plows at the maximum angle and the stuff still sticks and builds up. What can I use on the blade to help it flow better?
Thanks for suggestions.

Try WD40.It was developed for the water repelling. And was used on the atlas rockets, also what they use on the statue of Liberty to protect from the elements so I read.

Haven't had much luck with Slip Plate. Give the blades a coat of wax (Simonize, Turtle Wax, Ski wax or something like that).

Good luck,

Terry H
(about 20" on the ground and more coming tomorrow!)

Some snowplowers here in the U.P. of Michigan bolt a large sheet of smooth, thick plastic onto the plow blade. It's the same type of plastic that the cheap backyard pools are made of. In fact, that's what gets cut up a lot.

I was told at the place I get my plow parts that the paint that Myers plow Co. sells has something in it to make the snow not stick. So it was time to repaint one of my plows last year and I used it. It does seem like the snow doesn't stick like it use to.

Another thing that is worth a try is silicone spray. It is a pretty good lubricant.
