Well I got my rear wheel fixed I hope with some fiberglass, now would it be a good idea to wrap the inside of the rim with duct tape to help protect the tube? I painted the inside with phosphorus acid to help keep it from rusting any more. Thanks

sand down the fiberglass and put a good thick layer of primer on it

Tom, we have used a product called rocker guard. It is a rubberized product similar to the product used for spray in box liners on pickups. It will not corrode and gives the tube a good base to sit on. We have used ir on all our restorations. Ellis

All of us old dirt bikers use plastic electrical tape to keep the tube from getting rubbed by the spoke nipples AND liberally coat the inside of the tire and the tube with talcum powder to prevent tube-chaffing....smells good too! :-)

I thought they used rim liners for that.

Know why duct tape is silver colored? It is so that those repairing leaks in a Gleaner combine will have a color match.

Used duct tape on rear tractor rims many times here at Possom Lodge and it works great. By the way, what are you doing that for? I did it because I had so much extra tape and nothing to use it on. Just wondering.
