I have a chance to buy a single stage blower for my garden tractor at a fair price. But I'm leaning toward buying a walk behind two stage blower off of my brother who is moving south. Which will move the snow better/farther? Thanks

The two stage blower on your V12 Allison allows full power to be made at high altitude as well as sea level.

Two stage will handle all conditions of snow better,be more manueverable in tight areas.Tractor Mt SS will require wheel weights and chains to be effective at all, plus the mounting/dismounting and wear and tear on tractor.
Two stage will usually throw snow further as it has blower impellor that single stage does not have.

if u have a large area to clear a tractor mount is the answer, get a 4 blade fan 2 stage for best results..if not get a honda,it will go right up the steps + clear your deck..fire snow for a mile, never + i mean never break down + i used 1 commercially for 7 years + soaked it with armor all each spring + added fuel stabilizer,i never even changed the spark plug or anything else + after our record snowfall in 92 of 5 yes 5 ft over 3 days + yes it can handle 5 ft i sold it for 100 less than i paid for it + bought a new hydrostatic model..its a shame but here in northamerica we still can't build a decent walkbehind blower...they don't perform, break down + have little resale..been there
