I get these phone calls from some man saying that I rquested information about his "weed killer" suposedly I filled out a "card" He is full of sh*t. I ask him to "please put this number on your do not call list" and while he is mumbling something about not having a list, I thank him and HANG UP. Where do these guys get our numbers. It is my cell he is calling.

I don't know why it would be illegal for anyone to call your cell, it's a phone just like any other. They just passed a new thing a couple months back that, to my understanding anyway, pretty much made cell phones and home phones equal, in fact it's main thing was to allow people to transfer their home numbers to their cell which then in effect became their home phone. I got a mailing from the phone company shortly after this thing was passed telling that if you did this then they would no longer guarantee 911 locater service for you. That makes sense since they would never be able to tell whee you actually were. Another thing that may be happening is that some of these places use random number dialers. Our shop number is unlisted which is supposed to mean nobody has it, even the operator. We did this because we were getting so many of these kinds of calls during the day. We still get a few every now and then, and 98% of them when asked just how the He-- did they get this number that's what they tell us..... .It's like anything else in the world nowdays no information is truely personal or private anymore except for the secrets you keep to yourself, and I wonder sometimes how long til they figure out how to read them too.....

You gave your Cell phone number to someone or some place. And they sold it.

Yes, it is illegal for them to call your Cell.

Its actualy illegal for them to call your cell phone. You might talk to them long enough to get information and then report them to the FCC. I think it has something to do with them using your minutes and not paying. We pay for tvs, phones, everything, so this no call should be everywhere. I also think they should pass a law where a business has to display its name and number on caller ID.

The rule for caller id goes into effect Thursday. They complain about loosing jobs. I guess it took 50 odd million people to tell them this calling sucks. Then, they are rude, and all. I had one from AT&T call at 8:30 PM and wake up the baby. I told him not to call anymore, especially this late. He told me the law allows him to call till 9:00. I told him when the law answers my phone and pays the bill, they can make that rule. Chaps my a$$.

Cowman I remember this same thing that happens every once in awhile . I just tell them that they are calling the wrong number as I did not request any information ! They obtain the Information from some place that knows that you are farm connected . I have wondered that if under the freedom of information act ,if they could obtain lists from the Agriculture Agencies.
