I'm looking for steering parts[new or used]for a LGT-125 Ford lawn tractor.I think it is a 1975 or 76 model year. This is a really good tractor, except, the steering is totaly worn out. What I need is worm gear in steering shaft& pin that rides in worm gear.Serial no. is 09JC3220. Tractor no. is 16055. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
thanks, DonDeVille

I had one of these. The tractor itself was indestructable, but the steering was the week link. I finally got rid of it a few years ago, but I think the Ford tractor dealer in town could still get most parts for it.

Your local New-Holland dealer can get the parts, you may need to measure the pin and shaft diameter for them.

The pin on my tractor was completely wore out. If your good, you can take some welding rod and build the shaft back up (just be careful not to damage the threads) It takes some time, but my steering works nice now, very little play in the steering wheel.

I just kept cooling it down after welding on it so it didn"t warp the pin. With a good file you can keep shaping the weld so it will be nice and round.

Hope that helps!
