I am curious what people's thoughts are on these tractors? Are they any good? Are they comparable to a John Deere, or more like a white or massey, or are they a long, yanmar type of machine? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I own a 425 4X4 with IH loader. Found the tractor to be reliable and well worth the price. Yes, there were some leaking valves, nothing that a good mechanic can't fix. Parts are easy to find for this model, out of Buffalo, NY. Belarus International (USA) is building a network of Belarus parts and are commissioning US manufacturers to produce high grade replacements. I use my tractor for everything from logging, round bale harvesting, road repair, snow removal, etc.

Neighbor if mine bought one 5-6 years ago then bought another one last year. Just guessing but I beleive they are both 70-80 hp. Uses them mainly to put up big round bales. Traded his JD 4020 to buy the second one so that tells me a little.

Dad bought a 250 W/loader new in about 1980. It was a very strong and stout tractor. The 250AS is the same tractor with improved shifter pattern. You ever get on a old 250 and you will see what I mean. I have two dealers; both about 50 miles away in different directions but they stock very little parts. Good points.....
Cheap price. Saw a 250AS in fair to good condition that sold for $1600.00 last year.
Strong tractor much better than the China Junk of today.
Bad points.....
Most or all parts need to be ordered and shipped.
Part prices are much more than for other tractors.
A little crude in some parts causing leaks.

I sold ours and would never buy another unless conditions change. Ever since the cold war this company has been struggling and may fold one day leaving no supply for parts.

This is MHO based on owning our 250.

JUNK!!!!! !!!!! !! I had one, and the transmission filed while still under warranty, then the engine threw a rod while it wasn't under warranty. I would strongly advise buying anything from Belarus. If you want a good dependable tractor you can get a beauty thats been restored/rebuilt for much less than those heaps. I noticed ytou mentioned a 80 hp. tractor- there's lots of reliable iron out there, and if youre going to spend that kind of money (24G) on a new belarus, you'd be much bettewr off buying a recon/rebuilt old iron for a lot less money, and a lot more reliability.

Plus, chances are it won't leak as much.

Just my 2 cents worth

I don't think I understand your comments. Yanmar makes John Deere's smaller tractors. I am not farmilar with a White but I have a Massey 255 and would put it up against any tractor of comparable HP and weight including John Deere. There are more John Deere dealers and whatever tractor you decide on, availablity of parts and dealer is a major factor in selection. IMHO.

Yanmar makes engines for John Deere not any tractors anymore, and the tractors they did make were made much heavier than the Yanmar named ones.

Belarus USA went bankrupt several years ago so there are no dealers. They are heavy, crude, hard to shift, but by the same token, reliable, good pullers, no complicated systems and a lot cheaper on the used market than most US stuff. Cabs have heat but no AC. Parts exist but don't expect them to be readily available. My neighbor has one and likes it because of price. He'd rather have a John Deere but can't afford it.

I must go on record here and refute most of the negative statements made by some of the posters here. I run a Belarus tractor almost every day. It has been a pretty decent tractor with only some minor problems which you will get with any tractor.
I am not going to say that it is as nice as a JD, Case IH, or New Holland, because its not. But where else can a part time farmer get an 80HP FWA tractor with a decent cab for the kind of money you can by a Belarus for? As far as the other statements made here, they are all pretty much B.S., except for the fact that Belarus of USA did file chapter 11 reorganizal bankruptcy a while back. As far as there being no dealers- pull up www.belarus.com or www.belarustractor.com (I can't remember which). You will get a map of the USA with dots representing dealers. Click on a dot and it will give you a dealer name. As far as not being able to get parts or parts being more expensive, they are no more expensive or harder to get than any of the leading US brands.
I suspect that some of the complaints may be a result of an experience with a bad dealer and not the brand itself. A good dealer will provide good service, regardless of the brand.
With all of that being said, try to get a late model Belarus, as they have made substantial improvements in their hydraulics and steering in recent years.
Sorry for the long post, I just had to set the record straight.

Sorry about the late response. I was out of town yesterday. To answer your question, I run an 825. The similar current model is the 8345. I don't think there is much difference between the 8345 and 9345 (100 HP). The 9345 uses a turbo and runs at 1800 RPM. The 8345 runs at 2200 RPM with no turbo. Sometimes they put larger rubber on the 9345's. That's about the only difference.
Do not get an 825 or 925 if you can afford a 8345 or 9345. The newer series has has the Husco valves, the same used by John Deere. They do not have any hydraulic leak problems, plus they have a one lever joystick control for hyraulics and the 14 speed synchro tranny (easier shifting).

We have a dealer in our town with new / used Belarus Tractors on their lot. The used 4WD late models with loaders / grapples seem to be in the 9000 to 13000 range. Most have 500 to 1500 hours on them (low hour trade-ins might be a indication of quality). One thing I've noticed that every Belarus I've looked at has leaks from anything that can leak.

You usually get what you pay for. Yes, off brands are cheaper up front, but if you can't get parts when you need them, has it really been worth it? A JD costs more up front, but it will be worth more if you ever sell. It's easy to get IH parts, too. But Belarus parts from Poland, who knows?
