Since I just sold my skidsteer, I need a loader bucket for my horse farm. Does anyone know if I can put one on a Long 360, and if it would be stronger than say compact tractor like a Mahindra? I would think I need 2000 pounds plus lifting ability. If not my Long, any suggestions on tractors to look for that were built strong for a loader?

Thanks Much!

I have a Long 360 and a Dunham-Lehr loader for it. It has been several years since the loader was on the tractor. Adding 2000# of payload onto the already considerable front end load of the loader itself is way too much for the 360. I tried it. No apparent damage, but obviously far beyond the capabilities of the tractor. Incidentially, it takes a big skidsteer to safely handle 2000# lifted more than a couple of inches off the ground. Probably an 80 or more HP machine.

Thanks.

Actually I just sold a 74 hp JD 270 which is listed at 3500# breakout and 3100 lift. I never tested it with measurement but it sure was strong! Too strong, as it kept blowing hoses...

Did you add the loader attachment after you had the tractor? IS there any thing you can tell me to watch out for or do?

I appreciate it.

A buddy has a Long DT360 and it has an end loader on it. I know he has used it for moving some rocks around his property and it surprised me with it's capabilities. He had a Land Pride roll over box blade on it at the time for counter balance. The tractor has @300 hrs on it. He also has the box blade, quick attach end loader, 6 ft disc, post hole digger, 6ft squealer Bush Hog. I know he is trying to sell his property in the country and is selling this tractor and equipment CHEAP. If you are interested let me know and I will get in touch with him. Kent

I am in Atlanta so that is a pretty good hike. I am interested though in talking about it. We would have to look at delivery costs.

I have a Long 350 that has a Malco loader.
Its not very heavy duty, and does not compare to the versatility of a skidsteer

A John Deere 1530 or 2040 would make a sweet little loader tractor. Long will do Ok as well, just keep the clamps tight on both sides of front axle. 2000 lbs will be a bit much on both brands.
