john,go with associated or solar. if you want a good one expect to pay around 110.00 or higher. stay away from the cheap ones that include a built in light.if the rocker switch accidentally gets pushed to the "on" position it will run the gel battery down and you won't know until you need it.

don't waste your money on century (the new ones with automatic shutoff). the old ones i think were good. the new ones are throwaway. i learned the hard way.

I've always bought Schumacher chargers/boosters. I shouldnt say always because I've only had 2. the first one got ran over by a truck. Just a dumba$$ attack I had. They aint the cheapest but they work great.

We have the largest unit available at Canadian Tire. Along with jumper cables, there are two power outlets which supply 110 power as well. Actually bought it after this year's power failure in order to back up my handicapped wife's equipment. Wouldn't be without it!

Bought one from one of those tool companies that travel the country gave 29.95 for it works good every time i have used it. Think it might have been Homer tools or something like that. They come around twice a year and if something goes bad they will replace it free. On the other hand like the others have said keep a good battery and you won,t have problems. Or a good battery charger.

John, I have a cheap about $80 Harbor Freight model and it has done a real good job for the past couple of years. I've used it myself and have used it for several others that have needed help it has been very handy. Or you could just become perfect like these other guys. Hope this helps. Let us know how you make out.

yup john, I am nearly 50 years old and have NEVER owned a set of jumper cables. I sure ain't gonna buy a set now. Keep a good battery in your tractor. You can buy a good battery for what those throwaway boosters cost.

What is the entire situation? It maybe cheaper and certainly safer to get the tractor to start the factory engineers intended. May just need a block heater, battery blanket, synthetic oil in the crankcase, injector service, tune up, bigger CCA battery, new/clean cables, high torque starter windings or something equally simple and cheap. What is it you are calling a jump stater? One of those portable gell cell battery packs with jumper leads?
