Need to know how to check oil level on super A farmall. At the risk of sounding real dumb. I have rebuilt a few cubs but am now starting on this A and am waiting for some books. I can see the plugs on the side of the pan. but don't know for sure how to do this "tricky" chore. Thanks Lance

Lot of the older distillate burning(kerosene) tractors had 2 drain cocks on the oil pan. The Idea was to open the bottom one each morning before you started it up for the day, and the unburned distillate which was lighter and thinner than the old motor oils would drain out into your bucket. When finished draining you then added a quart of new motor oil and you were ready to work for the day. It is supposed to be one quart between the upper and lower drains that they had on the oil pan at that time. Gene Davis

Its easy the bottom one is for low level or in other words if oil doesn't come out of the bottom one your low and the top one is full so to check your oil you open the top one and the bottom one you should get oil out the bottom one then you close that one and fill till you get oil out the top one. Fill slowly since it takes a little time for the oil to get to the pan. Hope this helps
