Carter carbs for use on IHC gas engines have only two jet sizes for idle/low speed, drill size 66 and 70.
Drill # 70: UT-733-S, UT-2222-S, UT-2701-S, UT-2706-S.
Drill #66: UT-2703-S

Merry Xmas Slowpoke, Thank you very much ---that is info I need as I haven't found a supplier yet who handles the complete kits. I can make and ream the throttle shaft bush and turn the thread section of the jet. Am going to try to salvage the low speed tube and solder--press? it into the new thread sect. Now with this info I know what to bore the jet tube with. Its full of hardened oxides or something. Thanks My friend. John

If your carb matches one on the list, you'll be ok. I would try to run the drill bit through with fingers only rather than a power drill. I don't think the standard chuck will take such a small size anyway, but a pin vice will work. What do you think of the idea of using something like CLR to clean the passage? I don't remember any one mentioning anything other than carb cleaners. You could take a little scrap of brass from the broken part to see how it reacts to CLR. And if the tube is soldered in, I would definetly, carefully, run a bit thru to remove any excess solder. Some large hobby shops sell 12" brass tubing. Each piece will just slide into the next size up, and the smallest sizes may have the right id for the tube you need. Bring the drill with you for a test.
Merry Christmas from California.

Hi again Slowpoke, yes I know my lathe chuck wont go there but I have pin vise that will.I never thought of clr but the wife has some so will try it and post the effects?? Can't hurt this much .as its already landfill---just thought if I can salvage it wud be worthwhile. I am a bit leary of some of the carb cleaners .
I have used acetone and strong stuff around the place in the past.My wife came down with a rare terminal illness 6 yrs back and the doc says maybe from exposure to these chemicals --No proof but they dont know what causes Myelofibrosis for which there is no cure. She has had abt 250 units of blood in the past 5-6 yrs.Every 3 wks. So we shud be extra careful with this stuff.Working on this old stuff is all that keeps me sane(????) Tnx agn John

Try NAPA, the kits I have been getting from them have new needles in them.
