do any of you fellas use a hyd. top link with your grading blade? we got a long farm lane to keep up and my blade does a lot of bouncing even at slow ground speeds. seems like it does more pogo stickin than gradin.

My blade would bounce around a lot also when I first started using it. I don't know if your doing it but, I found if I angle it about 45 degrees it stops. It also grades a smoother road when angled. I usually grade toward the center then back out to the sides. It comes out darn slick.

The hyd. top link makes it easy to adjust the front to back tilt of the blade and make the blade bite in more easily - top link extended - or slide over the material more easily - top link shortened-. To stop the bouncing it helps to add weight. I generally use 4 suitcase weights ( about 90# each ) on my 7' HD Arps blade behind my Ford 3000 ( about 40 HP ),
I hope this helps you.

Mudstuck, I have thought about it but haven't done it. I do put 2, 100 lb suitcase wts on my blades frame work. It does stop the bouncing. Go slow, pick a time when soil moisture is good, after about 1/2 in rain. Works well. but, my best results happen after I roll the road with my ol 4000 lb road roller.
It would be very easy to over Hoss a light blade. Be careful.
Good Luck,
John A.

I have one on my 1750 Oliver. I would not be without it. Use it for gradeing, snowblowing, ect. Bought a cheap cylinder, built 2 nuckles for each end and pluged it into one of my remotes. I found you have to be a bit carefull when grading. To much tractor and to light of a blade can fold a blade in half or dig to he!! and back.
