To most of you guys who responded to Frank's concern about fingerprints on his tractor. First off, it is Franks tractor and he worked hard to restore it. Let him rope it off and send a clear signal "This one is Look only" There is room in this hobby for everyone, from the guy with better than new paint and chromed lug nuts to the old rust heap that hardly runs (or dosen't run) I enjoy seeing them all so let's try to be a little more understanding.

Yeah, everybodys got a right, I agree, but if he dosen't like fingerprints from humans, he MUST really hate birds! Old uncle Jack had a bright yellow DeSoto, back in the early 50's. He always parked it under an oak tree to show it off(when he didn't put it in the garage)
In the fall of the year the starlings would flock up and roost in the oak tree. They were mainly feeding on berries and pooped bright purple all over his yellow Desoto, he'd come out in the morning mad as the devil. I once asked him why he parked under the tree, instead of just leaving it in the garage? He told my mom she had a smart a** kid!

I had the chrome lug nut covers and I only haul it to the shows far away. I enjoy driving it to the ones with in 50 miles and run it thru the Quarter Car Wash and dry it off. I have had it off road, up steep hills and out in the brush (tring not to scratch it) There are some people with out sence at these shows so it is a good idea to stay close by just in case. A simple sign "Please Don't Touch" would maybe get the point across. Mark H.

funny really, how some hobbies become out of hand. Get control on those finger prints.

The honest work of a tractor deserves more. The gut should have bought some rare Bugatti to fiddle with... HAHAHAHA Mike D.

The man asked for comments and he got them. I don't think anybody got out of hand.

Guess that's why they call them -

Tractor Shows

instead of

Tractor Touches

It is Frank's tractor and he's worked hard to restore it like he wants it. He shouldn't have to guard it to keep it nice and neat. Way too many people look at it as just an old farm tractor like Dad used to have. Dad didn't mind beating his up, so the owner won't mind either. Don't get on it unless you have permission. Take all the pictures you want of the grandkids setting on it after you ask. This past summer I saw an older man and maybe his son trying to hand start a B. It didn't belong to them, but dad wanted to show son how we used to do it. Didn't set well with the owner when he came back. Also saw at another show 2 boys about 6 or 7 playing ride the horsey on the hood of an unstyled A. Mom and Dad thought it was cute. The owner kept his cool alot better than I ever could. It may be just an old tractor, but look and don't touch until told it's OK by the owner.

I did'nt read anyplace where folks said that it was ok for spectators to abuse his work. Most said a coupla fingerprints ain't gonna hurt a thing. A mile of difference between touching and abusing.
