Any of you guys pulled like a 46" or 48" lawn sweeper behind you riding mower for picking up leaves? Most have like a 140 cubic bag that catches grass or leaves, and uses the wheels off the unit to drive the pckup brushes. Any luck with these, kind of expensive trial, if they dont work well. Thanks
GP

I have one and I use it for both grass and leaves. The leaves have to be fairly dry for it to work real well.
You have to experiment with it to get it to work. The proper height setting will vary with how long your grass is. Like any ground-driven implement, the right ground speed can be the difference between working or not. Too slow and it won't work, too fast and it blows then out over the back of the hopper.
I pull it behind a Hydrostatic Cub Cadet, the infinitly variable speeds are handy.
It took some time to figure out the right combination of setting heights and speeds, but once I got them, it works pretty good.

I had a walk behind Parker motorized sweeper that
worked well but had too little capacity for use
with leaves. It was fine for grass clippings, but
the leaves filled it in just a few feet of travel.
I think you will find this true of the tow behind
model as well. I now have a tow vacuum that holds
a yard full of leaves before it has to be emptied.
I don't think you would be happy with a sweeper
as you will spend more time off the tractor then
on.

Yup. They're okay for occasional sweeping up of grass clippings. Don't work at all for leaves.
