I am looking at an 800 Ford tractor with propane fuel. The tractors runs very well but I noticed the the three point lift was very very slow rasing the bush hog off the ground. Is this normal? Also the tractor comes with a hydraulic front end loader. What are the pitfalls of that piece of equipment? Thank you for your inputs.

Which model of 800? (850, 860, etc. - or which tranny does it have?) An SoS tranny would be the 'pitfall' to watch out for.

Slow 3-pt, does it have the older vane type hyd pump or the newer piston type? Either could be worn, or it could be old slushy oil, or it could be a vane pump set to slow mode. The 100 series Fords don't have real big pumps, so could just be normal, without seeing it....

Loaders are nice. What kind? Puts more stress on the front end, look for pivot wear. All hyd, trip bucket, dual acting, what?

LP is not so common, so a little less knowlege 'around' to troubleshoot problems, but if you are familiar with it, works fine from what I'm told.
