I buy over ebay off a picture and description. BUT I take cash and pick up the equipment promptly. If mis-represented, I don't feel I must pay.

File a clain in small claims court, most allow a claim up to $2000.00 and it's easy to do., add the cost of the tractor, shipping and gas-personal expenses to the list.. You can file locally.. After you win, place a lien on any of his property by filing the lien ith the county and then send him a not letting him know that you need a minimum of 18% on your money/award..

Hey Larry, you got took. Are you going to part out what's left? If so I might be needing some parts.

Maybe he sold the other parts to buy crack? You'd have to be on something to represent THAT tractor in THAT manner. There's no excuse for that kind of b.s. My two cents.

For that much money I would drive over there and file with the sheriff, DA and file a law suit.
My experiance; the post office will not do anything unless its substancual or multiple complaintants. The purpose of going there is the sheriff or DA might tell you its civil which is their way of giving you the bums rush because they dont want to mess with it. You tell them you want the complaint form for felony theft and fraud. I would shoot for all the purchase price and shipping because he already got the asking price from the stuff he stold off of it.

Usually there are two sides to every story, but I notice the seller hasn't posted any sort of rebuttal or explanation so I take what Larry806 is saying to be true.

The thief's full name, phone# and address ought to be posted for all to see. He spoils it for everyone. No way would I buy something over the net sight unseen, no matter how good a deal or decent and honest the seller may seem. Internet fraud is just to easy to get away with.

I didn't go get it myself. It's not the end of the world .There were some real JUNK parts thrown in the truck. If the block & head are any good I can break even. I have emailed & tried to call him guess what no answer. I just hope someone see's this before they send him money for something big. I will still keep buying the same way & keep meeting good people. I just think people that deal like that should be exposed

I figure he accepted your offer for the whole thing. Then got emails for parts.
He then sold your parts and then you paid to junk the remains.
I dont think you should just get your money back. Heck keep the tractor. He owes you for your parts.

my picture comes in fine. Maybe your computer is having a bad night. It shows a tractor with no tire, motor, hood, etc.

What a crook! Sure the grills are missing, sure the carb and mag were gone, but where is the hood and tank? Where's the steering shaft?

You know he's reading this stuff!

Did you buy it sight unseen except for the first picture and have it delivered?

Eric

Apparently you paid for the "tractor" on the basis of the picture and a telephone conversion and had it delivered. If you were there when it arrived, you should have refused it and sent it back. Then demand a refund including all transportation charges. If the seller refused, go to small claims court.
I wonder if the FCC would be interested in electronic fraud?

I don't know if fraud is even a strong enough word. Where I come from, he'd be called a liar, plain and simple.

Yes, those people not only need to be stopped, they need to be arrested. Would a note to Kim do any good?
