Have 3 houses in our yard, getting tired of getting dressed up and walking across the yard to ask a question, call for dinner, etc.

Need a wireless intercom that will work between 2 houses that are on different electrical systems. (only one house has a phone) Houses are about 125 yards apart.

Any help appreciated!

Know you're asking about wireless, but..... .have you considered military surplus field phones and a few hundred feet of como wire; been a long time and I've forgotten the #s; TA 312 or something similar..... ....

Don't quote me on this but my understanding is the wireless intercom will work if all the buildings are all being fed through the same transformer. I have used them as building monitors many years ago and they worked well. The portable phones mentioned would probably work well also for your requirements.

I have six of these units. They work perfectly, however, it is my understanding that they work off the house wireing. That means they all have to be, as mine are, working off the same service. I have one power meter serving a garage, boathouse, main house and a guest house.

Yes they work off the wireing but they go past the meter / service and back to the transformer. I have used Radio Shack units to monitor several neighbors home when they were on vacation and to allow an elderly neighbor to reach me.

Get some of those little radios at wal-mart that are good for 2 miles, also get the rechargeable batterys and the chargers then you can even yell at some one out in the shop, feeding etc. Just an idea.
