I have a continental 124 F motor in a co-op model C which is welded and in bad cosmetc shape I located a continetal 112 block and head which seem to be good rebuilding stock I realize the 124 can be bored to 140 or 162 Question is the 112 the same blocktaking the same internal parts (crank cam etc.) If the block is the same and same stroke I could bore the 112 and use the original pistons having an origional size motor O K Guys who knows is the 112 the same block?????

Bill,

Y series engine is a much smaller series

engine than the F series.

I have a continental flat head engine that I am not using and would be interested in selling if it is the same that is in your tractor. It is a four cylinder flat head with the distributor in the head. The seriel number is Y112 4513 311997. The engine has been totally rebuilt and is ready to be put in something. I am not sure what it actually came out of, I bought it at a yard sale. If interested write back or call me at 615-754-7038.

And Ingersol-Rand air compressors, too. I have a Continental G193 and can't find a shop to mill the head because it has a water outlet sticking out the end. Someone let water in the exhaust and it froze the valves. Years later, when they tried to start it, all the pushrods bent and the exhaust valve heads fell off the stem.

Slowpoke, I just looked at the head on G193 in my

forklift, and there is nothing sticking out that

would prevent resurfacing. It's the same design as

the H and J series cont'l and I have resurfaced

many of them , on the planer.

Hello, George, I'm glad to know that there are more G193 engines out there. My head has the water outlet sticking out about 3" from the end. Maybe the shops can't do the head because the studs are still in the manifold side, but I'm just told they don't have the right kind of machine to do it. What is your source of valves, etc? I have found suppliers for valves and guides, but can't locate any push rods. They are not listed in the catalogs. I may have to have new ones custom made. Do you know if valves from some other application will fit? Wishfull thinking, maybe a Chevy 350?
The old valves have numbers on them; I think they're replacements.

Slo, For parts -I'm a WD for clevite and also have ready access to FM and some other suppliers. Send me an email with the dimensions of the push rods and I'll look in the progressive dimentional listings to see if anything will match. Valves, springs, guides, and keepers are all listed and I would assume are available .Gaskets are listed also. Thermostat housing unbolts ,nothing else sticks above the top of the head and nothing is below the deck surface of the head. I don't know why they can't cut it , I can .
