Hi--I posted this question on the AC page, but didn't hear from anyone in IL. I'm looking for a place to leave a gooseneck trailer in November where it'll be safe for a week. I might be selling an IHC tractor to a fellow in Iowa who will meet me in that area but I have to travel up to Wisconsin for the week. I was hoping to not have to pull my trailer all the way into WI. If anyone can help out, I'd appreciate it. Might also be able to carry something for you--I'll be coming from the Mobile, AL/FL panhandle area and heading up I-65 and will cut over to IL somewhere in KY.

Thanks

Be a little out of your way but I'm 57 miles east of Elizabethtown, KY right by Bluegrass Parkway. Welcome to drop your trailer there.

I have a farm located a mile off of exit 70 on I-80 which is 9 miles west of I-39 exit . I-39 is exit 79 . The farm is on US Route 6 near the Ladd-Spring Valley exit, would be south west of the exit . Buildings are down a half mile private lane . Lots of room , be glad to help , let me know if this will work out for you , Jim

Jim,

I don't know the lay of the land in that area, but it seems you're the closest to the junction. If the fellow buys the tractor, he'll be coming east on I-80, so I might be able to meet him at your exit. If you get a chance send me an email at klagarde@att.nospam (Change "nospam" to "net" for email to work.)

Thanks to all who responded. If any of you ever need the same help, drop me a line. We're down south in the Florida panhandle.

Kevin, you're welcome to leave your trailer at my place if you're interested. I live south of Martinsville, IL., which is on I-70 between Effingham and Terre Haute, In. Email me if interested.

Well, I do not know of any farms up in that area, but I drove semi for 30 years, and I can name a place or two that you may be able to do that. You will have a Petro Truck Stop right there, and another little one also at that exit, and up at exit 104, go west a couple of miles, there is, or was a good resturant at the junction of rt.51 that had PLENTY of parking, I am sure that GrubStake would not mind if you parked it there if you asked them, also a darned good place to eat. Just put a good pin lock on it, park it out by the road where it can be seen.

Earl,

Thanks for the info. The trailer may have another antique tractor on it also--was a little concerned about leaving it out in the open. I've slept many a night in truck stop parking lots, but never have left my trailer unattended.
