Bidding just ended on e-bay on my MH 44 in fair to good condition and runs. It sold for $660. A couple weeks ago one in Kansas with shot tires and engine stuck went for more than twice that amount. Both were narrow front and gas. I'm in central Mississippi. Are tractors worth that much more in that area? Someone got a very good deal on the one I sold at least in my opinion.

I will have to agree with rustyfarmall on this
one. 7 years ago I bought a neighbors 44 Massey at
his auction. 1 owner, good tires, straight tin,
power steering add on 3 pt.,good paint, started on
the coldest morning, this was a nice tractor. I
kept it several years until I needed money to buy
a tractor I wanted in my collection. Asked
$1200.00 for it, couldn't sell it. I went to an
auction 20 miles from home and watched a 44 Massey
with no tires or rims, seat and tin missing, motor
stuck just in poor condition bring $795.00. I
tried to sell mine to one of the two guys that had
bid on this one, but they didn't want mine. So
when you figure out bidders, let me know, we will
make a fortune. I am in Kansas, but not sure this
has anything to do with the price differance in
tractors.

I think it has to do with the area of the country and the type of tractors. There is a 1991 belaurs 250as in WI going for $735.00 now. I notice that the small utility tractors sell much better in our area. We have a lot more home onwers that want a grass cutter more than a farm tractor.
Want to see what those two masseys you got go for.

Garry, Just looked again at your 44 on e bay. You
mention one at about double the price in Kansas,
more problems. As posted here,it could be location Why is that Ohio 44D still climbing? Poor tires,
tranny noise, loss of power...injectors? Must be
a short haul for two bidders. Your tractor does
fuel questions: What is the hob-nobbed center of
the left rear wheel? Who pinched the cylinder?
Why the initial smoke? We know it's 52 years old, but every MH part you want, triples in price, when
you take a longer look. No precise answer, to the
bidder whims.

As an ebay seller myself of tractors, and vehicles, I can tell you that if you ended your listing in the middle of the day, that is one of your problems, another could be the cost of moving this tractor to an area that it would be popular in. I list all of my auctions for a Thursday night start time of about 7 pm Pacific time, and run them 10 days, that will give you 2 weekends of advertising/auction time, and end on a Suday night, it only will cost you 10 cents to schedule the start time, and 10 cents for the 10 day auction, so a total of 20 cents extra, and for me it has always paid off rather well. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, or need any help.

I'll agree, someone got a pretty good deal on yours, as far as the other one with the stuck engine, it's just like going to a live auction, it all depends on who is there, and how much money they have, or how little common sense.
