What is a fair price to charge for bushhogging briars and weeds on a five acre field using a 10 foot bushog? No brush.

$25.00? 35.00? I won't even think about bush hogging for less than $50.00, and I get all I want at that price. My "usual" rate is $60.00. That's a 60 HP tractor, with a 6' mower. With today's fuel prices, the price of parts, and just what you'd have to spend to buy a tractor, and $60 isn't big money. Bushhogging CAN be tough on a tractor or mower. I do a few "monthly" cuttings, that aren't much more than mowing grass. Those can be "discounted" by a few bucks. (Monthly "regular" work, is usually done at a set price) The "Once a summer, wheather it needs it or not" stuff gets the FULL PRICE, no matter what. I do work for a "Notoriously CHEAP" real estate company in our area. They give me around a hundred hours of mowing every summer. They pay the $60, and never bat an eye.

We have been getting $45.00 per hour with no complaints with a 6 foot rotary cutter. I would not charger any less because some places have rocks and other fun stuff in the field they forget to tell you about. I know 45 sounds like allot, but is not much if you hit and damage something. We try not to take any jobs that we are pretty sure has obstacles hidden. The easiest money is plowing and disking gardens.

If the land is nearby I would charge about 25.00 per hour.

THe going rate last year in east texas was 2.50 per foot of the mower. That is how one person charged. I contracted a large place of 1200 acres to mow. The guy doing the mowing also had a 10 ft mower. Don't overcharge and you will get some referals. UNdercharge and everyone will want you to mow. You will then be a broke nice guy.

I usually charge $35.00 hr. Gas is up and even though the field looks good it could have glass in it that a tire might not like
