3pt lift arm installation question

I am installing new lift arms on my first tractor, and would like to know if it matters how they go on. For instance, I notice that when mounted the ends that attach to the implement can either turn slightly in or slightly out, depending on which way you mount them. Is there a right or wrong way. This is on an older IH tractor.

Well, the ball ends should end up _parallel_ to each other when in use, so the angle on the outer end should be inward. You would be calling it 'slightly in'.
