You are limited to 66 pounds of gasoling in a non specification container for road carriage. If you go over 66 pounds you best be trained and have a specifiction (ie UN) container or DOT stamp on your transportation tank.

Diesel fuel is higher flash point and rules are different.

If that is true, there are a lot of farmers and construction companies who are breaking the law every day.

Check out the Northern Hydraulic catalog. They have pup fuel tanks for pu trucks. Disclaimer stating not DOT tested/stamped.

49 CFR; federal law. The same law that requires among other things the diamond hazard symbols (placards) on large trucks. Applies to all states, particularly confusion.

Some Fed. Acts apply to interstate and some do not apply to intrastate.
