Hey guys, I know this isnt tractor talk, but many of you have good ideas and have done things of this nature before. In my yard around the house I have actually been able to get a good healthy thich stand of St. Augustine grass all over. Around the house I have red tip phetonia bushes and at the base to make an edge effect I have monkey grass planted. My question is the St. Augustine grass keeps growing up all in the monkey grass and I pull it out constantly, do you know of any way to keep this from happening? Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks for any ideas.

The one sure way to prevent this is to pull out the monkey grass. St. Aug is pretty aggressive and will over take something slower growing. The only thing that I've been able to use as a border is decorative concrete edging blocks. It isn't as pretty as monkey grass, but it does do a nice job of keeping out the St. Aug. and Centipede grasses.
