I have inherited a lot of John Deere and Farmall tractor parts from my father who was a long-time John Deere tractor mechanic. I am looking for suggestions of the best way to advertise/market these parts. I have not compiled an inventory as yet, but would like to dispose of all of it as a package as I do not live where the parts are located. Thanks for any suggestions.

Depends where you are, but Kurt Aumann has one of the most successful consignment auctions going, I'll give you a link. This year the auction is in Taylorville, IL. He also does our club Auction & Swap Meet.

See if there is a collectors club in your area. Let them get in on it. Have a "yard sale" for them and their friends. Then, whatever is left over, have anyone that is interested make an offer. You'll get more out of it that way, and a whole bunch of people will be very happy! Or... Contact a local dealer. See if they might be interested in taking it on consignment. JMHO, John

Since you're looking to dispose of the whole lot, you're going to have to be prepared to take a lot less money than what the stuff is really worth. If it was me in that situation, I would get ahold of a reputable auction outfit and do it that way...somebody who is used to dealing in this kind of stuff.

Les is right, there are several auctioneers in the country that periodically hold consignment auctions for antique tractors, parts, etc.
Several of these auctioneers even have web-sites, so you can contact them.
