I would like to get some input/comments on these two tractors. I am looking at both and both are in good shape with loaders. The 135 does not have down pressure on the loader. The Ford has a Ford 770A loader and new bucket.

Any comments/experiences on either would be appreciated (e.g. - parts availability, dependability, etc.).

(The Ford 3000 has the hi/lo 4 speed - not the 'Select-o-Matic' transmission).

Thanks and have a TERRIFIC day!

Woody in WA.

Well one thing for sure you are looking at 2 of the best small tractors ever built. Both will do a great job if they are in the same shape.being loader tractors check the front ends for wear. Think about parts if and when you need them whats you nearest dealer do you know them and will they take care of you I've got a ford dealer in my back yard that could care less if he never had to sell parts to anyone and a massey dealer that is 60 miles 1 way that treats me like im his only customer. Best bet is to check your major wear parts and look at what tractors are in your area

Both are good tractors.
3000 is more powerfull
MF engine has dry sleeves, Ford hasn't.
Ford hydraulics is superior(my opinion)
My vote is for the Ford if and only if the engine is in good condition.

I grew up on a MF135 diesel, and it was one of my favorites. It had the multi-power transmission which was nice. It always started well, but did have a few oil and fuel leaks that we just couldn't cure. If you go with the Ford, please forward me some info on the tractor as I would be interested in it.

The first tractor I ever owned was a 3000 Ford. Mine was a 1974 model. Since ANY 3000 you might be looking at is at least 28 years old, it doesn't really matter what year, as much as what CONDITION. They are(were) decent tractors. Fair power, nice handling, and all the options that make for a good tractor. Just make sure it's in good shape. From what I've seen of them, they don't have the "life expectancy" of the 135 MF. All things being equal, the 135 is the best little tractor ever made. Then again, that is no promise that the one you're looking at will be the best 135 ever. You be the judge of that. If both tractors are about equal in condition, then I'd say the loader will make the difference. Just keep in mind that the loader is USELESS if the tractor doesn't run. Sight unseen, I'd give my vote to the 135. Hope this helps, John
