I have been trying to figure out what part of Kentucky you live in. I read a post of yours that mentioned a rental Haybuster no-till planter. I was in Magnolia Ky, on saturday. I saw one setting in a used impliment dealers lot, with the "story" on how to rent it posted on the back of the machine. Am I in your neighborhood? If so, there is another dealer, not too far away, on Hwy 61 ,that has a few items I'm looking for. Do you know anything about this place? Every time I've been there, this place is closed. I may be "barking up the wrong tree" but something tells me I was near your place. Thanks for the help, John

I know where Magnolia is but it is a little ways from where I live (I'm about an hour by road to the east). I live in Lawrencburg, just outside of Lexington. My dad and I farm mostly in Anderson and Mercer Counties though we have farms in Edmonson and Allen also (long story :-)).

Most NRCS offices and/or Farm Bureau offices here in this part of the state have at least 1 notil drill. The Tye drills were the staple rental unit for years. Mercer County started with the Haybusters about 10 years ago (they have 6). Seems to be more popular with the bigger farmers. Starting to get a lot of rental silage wrappers, too.

Send me an email if you are interested in info about the dealers there, I'll see what I can find out. My wife lived near there for 10 years and her uncle is the retired District Judge and a Short horn breeder. I can call him.

David

Thanks for replying. I was off work yesterday, and on the run all day. I didn't check the computer untill this morning. I'm looking for "working" 2 row planters, good 3pt. cyclebar mowers, and 2 row cultivators. I have a market for them. I have one guy that wants a model 71 flex planter (John Deere) in 2 or 4 row. I also want to "stomp around" the place, to get some idea of what he has. I'm always looking for parts to rebuild old stuff. It looks like he has some fairly decent stuff. Thanks for getting the name for me. I'll give him a call. John

Thanks for the quick reply. This place I'm looking for is on Hwy 61, about a 1/4 mile off of Hwy 31. I am looking for 2 row planters, and cycle bar mowers. I can sell them as fast as I haul them home. I have a "waiting list" for the planters. I saw at least 4 of them in this dealers lot. I have uncovered my e-mail address so that you can send me any info that you think would help. thanks for any help. I enjoy reading your post's. keep 'em coming. From what I read, you must be a busy man. Thanks, John
