I finally got around to buying a gooseneck trailer to haul my New Holland TC35D. My concern is with the dealer installed fiberglass canopy that is mounted to the ROPS. Will it stand up to the wind load generated at highway speeds? I don't know anyone else who has a similar setup, so I am hoping to find advice here in this forum!

Get a couple of the small ratchet tie down straps 10' feet long or so. Hook one end of each under the rear of the canopy. Run the strap over the top of the canopy and down the front. Hook the other end to the steering wheel and pull it down snug. That way the wind cannot raise the front of the canopy up and rip it off backward.

If it does come off, and does break its one thing, but think of the repercussions if it lands on the windshield of a vehicle following? Could possibly go right through a windshield, not a good thought. Tie it down. John in Ne.

Hello, I'm typing from Northern Alberta, Canada and yes it's cold outside today. Anyway I'm writing and asking for help. My late Uncle left me some small farm engines. Just one has me stump. This is a Wisconsin Diesel Engine Model:WD1-350 with a crank hadle to the side. It's new and never was used. Perhaps there is a reason for that? Don't know. Wondering if any of you fine folks could give me some history on it.

Gary
Hit the post message button on the top of the page then ask your question again, it ended up in the response section, where it's kinda hard to find.

If the mounting supports are at the rear of the canopy, back the tractor onto the trailer.

To be on the safe side I'd put a couple of good tarp straps on it, or maybe even a ratchet strap-better safe than sorry.

I have a John Deere 2440 with a rollbar and canopy. I haul it from farm to farm. We own land in two states, and have to move equipment from one place to the other. I have loaded it up, and took off down the road hundreds of times without mishap. The Deere canopy is shaped a little different, but would still catch just as much air. I have towed at speeds above 65 MPH. Now with that said, our canopies will blow off the next time they are on the trailer. Ask the dealer that you bought it from. Maybe he will have an opinion on the issue. Hope this helps, John

Not likely, course there's only one way to find out if you realy need to know....Wouldn't it just be easier to take it off? Probaly only has 4-8 bolts holding it on.....jmho Art
