There are a lot of things we all have in common. Now there is one more. I would like to thank everyone that said a prayer, or gave a kind word, when I posted the news on my wife's health. I believe in the power of prayer. Now, I believe in it more than ever. Last week, it looked very dismal. Saturday, the surgeon gave us some "good news". (At least it was better than we thought) About 3 years ago, Sandy had her appendix removed. She has been as healthy as a person could be since then. When she started feeling bad this time, the appendix surgery was the farthest thing from our minds. It shouldn't have been. The "mass" that the CT scan showed, ended up being a surgical sponge, left in during the appendix surgery. After all this time, it started to cause an infection, and her body was trying to reject it. it was removed, and the infected area was cleaned out. She will undergo an antibiotic treatment, and will stay in the hospital for about a week. Prognosis, all will be fine in a few days. What a scare! The end result, from my prospective; I know more than ever, what she means to me. I know that the world is full of wonderful people. I will never forget how people that have never met me, rallied to our side, when we needed you. This message board isn't just about old tractors. It's about friends, that just happen to have something in common. The old tractors are just one thing that draw us together. It's amazing what a kind word will do for someone when they are down. May God bless each and every one of you. He has already blessed me in so many ways, I can't even begin to count. Thanks from me and my family, John (Indydirtfarmer)

If you ever have any doubts about the world today, just read all of these responses. I am impressed. Last week, I felt like I had the wieght of the world bearing down on me. With all of the wishes, and prayers from you all, we actually feel better than before all of this started. I printed a copy of all of this, for Sandy to see. She is still smiling about it. I also saw that some others are having a tough time too. For you guys, hang in there. Times will get better. There are some very good people praying for you. My hope is that all of you can feel REALLY GOOD about yourselves. The things you said and did, made a huge difference in someones life. I will forever be indebted to all of you. We are going to have a "conference" with the administrator of the hospital where the surgery was carried out. They will know our thoughts about what went on. We most likely WON'T be suing anyone, as that won't help a thing. HOWEVER, the facts need to be presented to the chief of surgery, so that this doesn't happen again. The next person might not be so lucky. May God reward all of you, for the thoughts and prayers you gave us. He has rewarded me with a wonderful wife, and family, and a long list of friends. Our family has a big celibration every Thanksgiving. We get together, and have a big dinner. Afterwards, we all take turns telling all the good things that happened to us in the past year. It might take me more than one day to tell about this year. Thanks, and have a wonderful life. John

Some have mentioned going after the doctor because of what was done. You may have gained because of this rather than lost based on what you said about how you now know how much you care. When our daughter was born over twenty years ago, her eye was damaged by the forceps the doctor used during her delivery. Nurses later indicated it was felt the problem was because the doctor was in a hurry, and they hinted strongly there was a valid malpractice case. We didn't pursue the issue, and I am not sorry. It wouldn't have improved her eye (the damage is permanent), but it would have helped to raise insurance premiums for everybody. Glad all is OK for you and yours.

Hi, Indydirtfarmer. I am very, VERY pleased to hear that that is all it was, but I'd guess that I'm not half as pleased as you and your family.

Great stuff.

It does sound as if there might be somebody close around us who is listening. Thank you, Somebody.

You all have a wonderful day.
Best wishes to each and every one of you.

Lord bless you both. In the middle of all that, thanks for answering my post on another board.

From the looks of the responses yesterday and today, the federal court may have thrown the Ten Commandments out of a state court house, but not out of many hearts. Of course, the heart is where the Author said he would write them anyway..

I had not seen your earlier post but I am glad to hear that things have went well. I wish I were as lucky as you to have someone in my life to care about. The last little bit has been spent typing an email to my basically 2nd mom about how low I'm feeling this morning. I won't get into all of that here but basically I feel like I would have been better off if I never had been here to start with. Would yall mind keeping me in your prayers as well for strength and a better outlook on life.
Its not too good right now.
Thanks

Gary, Just yesterday, we bid farewell to our oldest son. He was 35 and due to many things, some of which we are just learning about, decided to take his own life. Believe me when I say that there are always other solutions to any problem. We'll keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Bigdog,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep yall in my thoughts and prayers as well. We think at times that our problems are so great and overpowering but yet there are always those who are having more difficult times. Just since my posting this morning I have seen a little turn around in my problems and hopefully things will turn quickly and I can get on with some things.

Prayers do work my wife of 34+ years just left for work and since I drive a truck at night I won't see her now until tomorrow I will talk to her on the phone around 9:00 tonight. Two years ago she had some mini strokes and it scared us to death. she is fine now. We will be praying for Norm in Alabama also.

That is good news, in that it is not a cancerous mass or other such illness! All those that prayed for a miracle from the Hand of God, should now give praise to the Lord God for His answer. I know that an infection is nothing to praise, but weighed against the alternative, it could have been much worse. My prayers are still for a speedy recovery for your wife and a blessed, long life for both of you. I believe that you can praise God for a Good Year, John!

Let us know when she is up and around, and feeling healthy again. (and just a thought... share this forum with her and let her read about all the prayers that have been offered for her, if you have not already!)

God Bless and Keep you and your family!

Chris <><

Ephesians 1:2-3 (KJV)
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Psalm 106:1-2 (NIV)
1 Praise the LORD . Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
2 Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare his praise?

Great to hear the news about your wife. It opened my day with a smile. I know it must make you sick to think all this could have been avoided. My father almost died about 15 years ago when he was misdiagnosed as having an inner ear infection. He had actually had a stroke and had blood vessels burst in the back of his head. Agian, it is great news about your wife. Maybe you will end up having a great year after all like your previous post. Have a great harvest and be safe.

Wonderful news that she is going to be OK, and it wasn't something more serious. All the best to you and the rest of the family. On another note, it is sad that with all the responsiblity on their shoulders, and the trust placed in them by patients, that some doctors (or other surgical staff) don't take the time to check behind themselves for things such as this. It is unfortunate the your wife and family had to suffer because of this. But on the positive side, I'm happy as I know you are that it was caught early enough that she will fully recover!
