I HAVE A 1941 9N WHICH STARTS AND RUNS FINE, HOWEVER AFTER I SHUT I DOWN AND THE MOTOR IS HOT IT WILL NOT START UNTIL GIVEN ABOUT 5-10 MIN TO SIT. ANY SUGGESTIONS BAD COIL MAYBE? ALSO HOW DIFFICULT IS A MAIN BEARING REPLACEMENT?

As likely carburation.
We need more information to make a diagnosis from a distance.
Does it have a good spark? If you shut it down then it may have just enough spark energy at running revs and not enough at cranking speed. Is this a distributor or mag (presumably a dist, but both systems use a coil)?
Is the spark yellowish or blue? If yellowish, maybe condensor has seen better days.
Is the contact gap correct, points good and timed correctly?
Does it flood the carb or have a small leak on the inlet manifold? Valve clearances OK?
All things, along with others, which might cause this small problem. Could just as likely be the coil.
Regards, RAB

YES MAY BE A BAD COIL! A COIL WILL SHUT DOWN YOUR MOTOR AND MAKE IT HARD TO START. YOURS MAY BE IN BEGINNING STAGES. IF IT IS STILL 6 VOLT MAY BE COIL IS BREAKING DOWN ENOUGH WHEN HOT AN DRAW OF STARTER MAY BE TO MUCH TO FIRE WEAK COIL. GO TO THE "N" BOARD AND ASK "DELL" YOUR QUESTION. HE IS VERY GOOD WITH THAT ELEC. STUFF ON A "N".
HE CAN ALSO HELP WITH YOUR BEARINGS.
