walked away from and kick yourself in the arse everytime you think of it?

I had a chance to buy a 3PTH 6 FT tiller, make unknown for $75. Worked fine and fella even let me use it for a couple days. I just did not recognize the value until after I passed on the deal. Wishing I would have bought that 3pth tiller.

Hindsight is ALWAYS 20-20.

I bought a '64 dodge 4dr. with a 383 v8 and a push button automatic trans. for $100. It ran great and the body was in good condition. The Tranny blew a line and I just left it parked outside on the street. The city towed it and several months later I saw someone driving it around. I was 19 and 20+ years later I wish I still had that car to cruise around on a sunday drive.

Back in the late 60s, my girlfriend broke up with me for someone else. Some months later, she wanted me back again. I passed on saying no and ended up suffering through 10 years of marriage with her. Been married to a TRIDITIONAL Asian girl now for the past 11 years. Never so much as a raised voice between us so far. As for engines and the like, she is always right there to help unload the truck.

Funny you should ask. I just got a call from a stranger this morning. He has a Farmall Cub that he'd like to sell. Told a friend who told him about me. He wants $500 for it. Says it's complete but needs a battery. Also, the carb leaks. Has hydraulics and he claims it all works. Says I should bring a battery so I can try it all out. Of course, he says it needs paint. What do you think?

If something went cheap at auction, just remember
the reason it went cheap was there was only one
interested bidder. If you had gotten in it might well have gone up to "market value".

Wasn't me, but sounded like a heck of a deal.

When grandad came back from WWII, he was looking to buy a farm. Could have bought either 200 acres of kinda poor farm land near Goldsboro, NC, or the 40 acres we live on today. The 200 acres near Goldsboro, is now part of Seymour Johnson AFB. From what I can understand, the government paid a pretty good price for it around late 40's early 50's.

About 25 years ago, I had a chance to buy a small farm, near home. It was not very good farm ground, so I passed on it. Last year, a developer bought 80 acres of it, to build houses on. He paid $1.125.000.00 for what I could have bought for $75.000.00. And I passed on it becouse I didn't think I could "make any money off of it". Nobody ever accused me of being smart.

Last week, a 324 NI picker in pretty good shape - $65. Go for $400-900 at most auctions. Couldn't get my hand up to bid I was so shocked.

On the other had last year I bought a set of segmented wheel weights for Ford, short 2 segments of a full set, got all the special bolts & hubs - for $12.50. Guess it balances out....

I had a chance to marry a farmer's daughter ( an only child)who was a bit too heavy. Her Daddy had a 400 acre farm with a full line of modern IHC equipment. I intoduced my buddy to her and soon after they were married she lost weight. I married her poor cousin who was slim and cute but she got fat and ugly and now I still have to work every day

Last year when I was at a area household auction and watched a wide front Farmall Super MTA with a rotten looking loader sell for $800.00! Just lazy, not wanting to make an extra trip with a trailer kept my hand down.
Last week at a local sale, a SMTA brings $4250.00! Talk about needing a kick with a size 12!!!

I went to an auction 15 - 20 years ago. It was an old guy who lived alone and didn't have much but he did have a big wooden box about 3'x2'x2', very nicely made, that was full of old woodworking tools. It went for $25 and I've kicked myself ever since that I didn't at least bid it up to $50. This was an "estate" sale that was held on a Saturday morning in December. It was cold, had snowed the night before and there weren't more than 8 or 10 people there. I just wasn't smart enough to make the right "investment".
