Hey anybody,I just bought a JC PENNEY GRASS HANDLER lawn tractor with a Briggs 14 horse
twin engine double bagger at a yard sale.
It has two grass shoots and looks to be in
great shape but wont start.
Seems to be a starter problem that can be fixed.
Problem is,I cant find any info on the net as to
its value,original price or info.
Looks like a solid mower but I would like to know a little about it.
Can anyone tell me where I might find some info on this mower or what I might have gotten myself into ?
Any info would be greatly appriciated...

Thanx

We have a JC Penney 494 CC lawn tractor. It was made by Simplicity. We believe it to be a Sovereign or a Landlord. It is a shuttle shift, 16 HP Briggs engine.

You might try the MTD website. Just about every lawn mower made, especially store brands are MTD's. For example "Troybilt" mowers are made by MTD. (Whodathunkit?!)

Jon - give the guys over at Gardenweb.com a try. It's a lawn tractor forum - lots of knowledge and advise over there. Good luck.
