Well, Labor day weekend has come and gone. And I had a great time. We have a local tractor/engine club show every year on labor day weekend here in NW Ohio. What a show! 400 tractors, countless engines, 15000 people(?), dozens of horses...and a whole lot of fun. What a great hobby and pasttime. I stood out in the rain Monday for 8 hours marvelling at nearly 2000 "guys" literally wading through the mud, laughing at each other just for the chance to buy an old hunk'a iron...or just watch everyone else buying! The relationships we build and the people we come into contact with are priceless. I am 33 years old....have one Farmall H, and can't tell you how much I enjoy this hobby. Wow! Let me know what you all think.

Where at in NW Ohio? My daughter and grandson live in Findlay. Might have to go visit next labor day. Also heard that Portland Indiana is a big show about this time of year. Still trying to feel out the shows in the area and when is the best time to visit.

Dan

Dan - the show is about 45 minutes from Findlay. E-mail me if you want more info. It would be worth the trip (of course, I may be prejudicial there).

If you guys want to see a really big show, come to Rollag MN next labor day weekend. This is a show to beat em all. Bring your camper your wife and your kids and stay the whole weekend. The show is the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. WMSTR. You can't properly see the whole show in 2 days. I know people that have been going every year for 20 or more years. There's always something new.(well, not really new but you know what I mean) It's a well organized well run show. You'd love it.

I made it there this weekend to see the parade on sunday- the best part is seeing all the steamers an oiler burners getting fired up for the parade. Lots of tractors crawlers too. I wish that had more trucks there- the few COE's I saw were pretty neat.

One the downside though, I talked to a guy who had his tractor damaged by a another tractor (roll away accident)...he wasn't to happy..

You're lucky to live in an area where there's so many. That kind of stuff is a lot scarcer here in NH.

I hope Joe will tell us what show he was at. Always like a good show. Brett, if you are looking for a nice show real close to you take your tractors to National Threshers reunion at Wauseon next June. The feature tractor next year will be Oliver.
Since I grew up in teh Pettisville area I like to make the trip back home to see old friends and exibit. We plan to have the Oiver 70 and Williams mill there again in 2004.
