I recently acquired an old Farmall "A" with a vacuum lift and a rear-mount sickle mower. The lift cylinder is on the right side if you're sitting on the seat. The lift linkage for the mower, is on the left. I have seen this mower on a 140 with rockshafts, but how do you lift it with the vacuum? Can anyone help?
Thanks

It's not a vaccuum lift, it operates on exhaust pressure. There should be a diverter valve in the manifold to pressurize the lift cylinder.
Those cylinders mounted in several places and positions on the tractor depending on what it was lifting. It may have used a cable to transfer it's force to lift a rear-mounted implement.
If you ask gene b over on the IH/Farmall board of this site, he can answer many questions about those lifts. He has several currently in use.
