What is the general consensus regarding the best/easiest to order/parts availability/etc./ online parts house out there? 1950's IH diesel parts wanted primarily.

Thanks for the replies gents, I just got new batteries and got the tractor cleaned up a little. Need to get the oil and fuel filters purchased, so I can go to work.

Try batescorp or steelwheelranch or check out Farmall forum an ask for help. There are lots of guys who have NOS parts on hand that are not hosting a website..

You'll generally find that the folks who specialize in antique tractor parts are usually older, not into computers, and don't sell "on-line"- the other problem is that there are variations in parts within models: is it a "late" or "early" 8N, etc., and you really need to tap their expertise when ordering.

Well typical of my never ending _)(*&^%$#@ should we say luck. The local hardware and auto parts store can obtain the parts for me. And guess how much they are? Double the online price.

Our parts stores around here and the tractor dealerships also, sometimes believe that there may not be another customer come thru the door, so the general attitude is,"We better make our days profit from this guy."

Not quite that bad really, but sometimes it is frustating to see a part pretty reasonalble online and check at the store to find that it is quite a bit higher.

Nuff griping for today, gotta go sharpen my pencil and work on my list.
