Is there a book that would give info on what tractor companies merged and what year to make up the major three today? either printed or drawn out in time line format. thank you John

I think what I am about to say is correct, to the best of my knowledge. John Deere is still Deere--with plants in US and the rest of the world. International, Case and New holland are all owned by Fiat. White, Oliver, Massey F. and Agco and Simplicity as well as Allis Chalmers are all owned by Agco. Ford Tractors I think became New Holland years ago. I am sure that there will be fellas that will say I am wrong on this.

Pretty good Kurt,

I'd just like to add to it a bit. Deere bought Lanz, and Chamberlain. Case bought David Brown and Steiger, and CIH bought Steyr. Ford bought Versatile. Cockshutt and Minnie Mo were bought by White, which makes them part of Agco, which also owns Fendt. Seems I'm missing something though.

Check with your local Deere dealer they have an advertising piece of propaganda that shows it as a time-line over the years.

Mabey you forgot that little relationship that Deere had with Zetor. Just because they painted them green, it didn't make them better. They were only sold in "developing markets", if I am correct. Agco also accuired the Challengers from Cat about a year ago.
