I am wanting to know how much it will cost to rebuild my dads lawn mower. It needs a new mower deck, the engine is okay, carburetor work maybe, hydrostatic works fine, needs rewiring all the way through, a new hood needed, new seat needed, steering unit needs reworking, the light holster and lights needed, I guess your typical rebuild including paint. Any suggestions on prices and can I still get all the parts for it?

Truck has a good suggestion: And he's right, they are a great little tractor. When the motor finally got tired on ours, I repowered it with a Briggs Vangard V-twin, 18hp. If anyone is interested, email me. I have a writeup which can be emailed back describing the project. As far as your question, the answer depends on what you're willing and able to do. For example, you can probably replace the wiring pretty cheap, if you want to do so. There isn't that much of it. If you're willing to do a little fabrication, you can replace the headlights, and mount with something of your own design. Example, use some halogen fog lights from a automobile accessory kit. (Yes, I know the purists are shuddering right now!) But it's your tractor, and you're the one who gets to use it. Deere's lighting up front was rather puny anyway.

Go over to the www.weekendfreedommachines.com website and ask the same questions.. I just signed in over there myself.

They're a great little mower, aren't they?
