Just thought I would let you know about a problem. I recieved a email the other day form who i thought was ebay and it stated i needed to fix my problems or i would be suspended. I went to a link to download what I thought would be a reason for this email. Instead it was a link to what appeard to be ebay and it had the normal sign in name, and pass word. I did it with really no result. It ends up that by doing this someone got my password. I think I have it fixed now, but I had to change my password. Charlie.

Yep, I get them all the time. They are phonies.
They make some excuse that needs your attention.
They ask for ALL your private information, Even a lot more than was required when you registered with Ebay or Paypal. When you click the "Submit" button it sends all your info to some hacker/scammer person, then redirects you to an official Ebay or Paypal page.
Everyone beware of these.
Best it go to the official website and do your normal login then check the REAL status of your account.

Ebay has an email address that you can do a direct :fwd to and they will examine and report bogus web sites that are attempting to defraud Ebay users. To contact Ebay with a suspect email that "looks" like it came form Ebay but may not be real just forward the entire unaltered message to:

spoof@ebay.com

My experience with reporting "Spoof" messages to them has been that an automated message is received within a few minutes acknowledging your report and a second message arriving within a few days from the member of the investigations team who acted on your report.

I am constantly getting e-mails from E-BAY, and Pay-Pal, the latest ones seem to want me to apply for a pay-pal credit card. I just delete them.

If you had a credit card on file, I would check charges immediately.. Also, search ebay users for your name, by "bidders". You may have bid on something you don't want..

These scams go after people who use their e-mail address for a name when bidding. The purchase I made on Ebay they recommended changing my bidding name. Before that I have gotten numerous requests for personal info to update requesing numbers, account numbers which are no ones business over an unsecured line. Delete this junk
