How many of you out there get these e-mails wanting you to transfer millions of dollars for them? How can I keep from getting them?

Once in a while I send them a very seriously toned businesslike letter asking them to E mail the money to me. For some reason they never reply..

Other times I just delete.

I hadn't been getting any until I signed up on tractor town. Now I get a couple a day!

Get an addy at a domain with a good spam filter, then you only have to check it for a addy of your friends and business associates. Or transfer your address book and ignore all them unknown mailers.

Well I had to open my big mouth. Got one this evening that claimed a woman in Nigeria was trying to get the $60 million her dead husband squirreled away while he worked for the govenment. Offered me 10% if I'd just do something. Responded that as a retired civil servant I was disgusted that some one robbed the people he was serving of such a huge amount of money, and that I hoped the current head of state (who was looking for it) found it. Now I'll see how many more offers I get.

Got 2 this Saturday, and replied to them that I needed their own e-mail addresses to send to the U.S. Treasury Dept Fraud Verification Unit, and am still waiting for their return. Gene

I tell them how stupid they are because everything is always spelled wrong and half of what they send, you can't even make out what it says. Then I give them a few choice words that I wouldn't tell my best friends Grandma. They usaully hold off for a couple of days then send the same letter under a different name, and if anyone who sends these letters is reading this, thats really stupid. Lets face it, they aren't the brightest bunch anyhow. They usually won't stop sending you letters, but it sure does feel good to tell them off!

I email back and tell them to send me a million dollars to the address I give in small denominations, and I never hear back from them.

Once they got your address, it's all over. Only way is to change your address, and that's only temporary - they're worse than an alumni association - they'll find you again!

Uydb,

For your alumni association, you might try sending them a letter stating that your bequest is a promise to NEVER EVER give them any money, saving them thousands by not sending out those (obnoxious) pleas.
